Tao Te Ching Copybook

In this 16mm film experiment, I layered the transparent film with Zhao Mengfu’s calligraphy of the Tao Te Ching, a text I practiced throughout my childhood and memorized during middle school. Key recurring characters such as “Heaven,” “Man,” “Virtue,” “Tao,” “Good,” “Country,” and “Love” are circled in red ink, and then overwritten, creating a dynamic interplay of repetition and personal reflection.
