Horizon
2022-2023
I enter factory ruins, stone pits, temples, and sites marked for demolition to photograph quiet zones where the city is about to erase and rebuild. The project begins with a temple photographed just before demolition, its tilted form setting the unstable tone of the series.
Wrapped in green mesh, these landscapes appear strangely calm, concealing the violence of urban transformation beneath a temporary surface. They become covered terrains, false skins stretched between the artificial and the natural. Each site holds its own horizon, gradually shaping the city’s next horizon. The work approaches metamorphosis not as a sudden event, but as a suspended condition in which concealment, soft violence, erasure, and rebuilding quietly coexist.
